1 Habakkuk - Gerald Flurry & Philadelphia Church of God
Auteur : Gerald Flurry & Philadelphia Church of God
Genre : Bible Studies
The Worldwide Church of God leader said it was his “Christian duty” to keep Herbert W. Armstrong’s writings out of print. But the Philadelphia Church of God now owns the copyrights to the 19 books and booklets written by Mr. Armstrong. That is the magnificent court victory we have won. God’s work has been revived as prophesied! God gave us the victory even though the appeals court ruled against us! It is the most miraculous event since the Philadelphia Church began. Habakkuk prophesied that it would be a double-wonder miracle. God’s message to the world could not have been delivered had we lost. The court battle tested the faith of God’s people. Most of them have failed that test. Conversely, the miraculous victory revealed who believes God enough to fight for and deliver His end-time message!

In this booklet:

Genre : Christianity
‘Jonathan Lamb has done an excellent job . . . The message that God is in control and is enough, even in the most difficult circumstances, rings out loud and clear.’ Clare Heath-Whyte, author of First Wives’ Club and Old Wives’ Tales

Who is in control? The sustained threat from rogue states, international terrorism, religious extremists, and moral confusion arising from liberal views of all kinds begs the question: what is happening to our world?

Is no-one in control? This is a deep vulnerability that many people express. And not simply in global events. Our own personal world often seems out of control as we reel from suffering, family tragedies and unanswered prayers.

The prophet Habakkuk knew that God was in control but, like us, his personal experience seemed to contradict this and he wrestled with the tension.

26 Habakkuk - Dr. Byron Allen Jr.
Auteur : Dr. Byron Allen Jr.
Genre : Christianity
Lord, you are not listening to me! You are not answering my prayer! The circumstances are getting worse since I started praying and not better. Habakkuk was a praying prophet. Prayer is always a contemporary experience. Modern day people who pray are generally praying about contemporary experiences. These facts combine to constitute Habakkuk as a very contemporary book. It was relevant for the circumstances of his day and it is also relevant for praying people in this day or in any day. The book of Habakkuk is actually the record of a conversation between God and the prophet about God answering prayer. Habakkuk accused God of not hearing and answering his prayer. Some writers describe Habakkuk as a Minor Prophet. This study presents him as a Major Pray-er! The book of Habakkuk is the record of that conversation between God and Habakkuk about that supposed non-answer. Habakkuk is one of t

Edition
38 Book of Habakkuk EPUB Edition - Billy Fincher
Auteur : Billy Fincher
Genre : Christianity
The Book of Habakkuk is the eighth book of the 12 minor prophets of the Hebrew Bible.[1] It is attributed to the prophetHabakkuk, and was probably composed in the late 7th century BC.
Of the three chapters in the book, the first two are a dialog between Yahweh and the prophet. The central message, that "the just shall live by his faith" (2:4), plays an important role in Christian thought. It is used in the Epistle to the Romans 1:17, Epistle to the Galatians 3:11, and the Epistle to the Hebrews 10:38 as the starting point of the concept of faith.[1] A copy of these chapters is included in the Habakkuk Commentary, found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. Chapter 3 may be an independent addition, now

Zephaniah
39 Nahum Habakkuk Zephaniah - Walter Dietrich
Auteur : Walter Dietrich
Genre : Bible Studies
The distinctiveness of this commentary lies in its consistent rotation between synchronic and diachronic views. This double perspective is directed toward the three prophetic books as a single entity, toward each individual book, and toward the interpretation of each pericope. The result is a sophisticated picture, on the one hand of the structure and intention of the texts in their final form, and on the other hand of their compositional history - from the second half of the 7th century to the late Old Testament period. Each exegetical section opens with a precise, text-critically supported translation and finishes with a synthesis that attempts to make note of the lasting insights from each text and the most important results of the analysis.

Auteur : Martin Pakula
Genre : Bible Studies
The books of Nahum, Habakkuk and Zephaniah seldom receive the spotlight but, as Martin Pakula demonstrates in this clear and insightful commentary, these minor prophets have much to teach us about suffering (of Christians in particular), the problem of evil, and how God has dealt with it in the Israelites’ day and in ours. In particular, these books shed helpful light on the work of Jesus and the overall plan of God to save a remnant of Israel that would one day include people of all nations. Ideal for those leading in ministry, or for personal study.

49 The Message of Joel, Micah and Habakkuk - David Prior
Auteur : David Prior
Genre : Bible Studies
Where is God in times of disaster? How can God allow suffering? What are God's people to do about moral decay in society? While people throughout the ages have long pondered these questions, three of the minor prophets--Joel, Micah and Habakkuk--provide insights to these perennial problems. The people of Joel's day were devastated by a locust plague, which Joel said warned of the coming Day of the Lord. Micah rebuked a culture of corruption and moral evil. Habakkuk cried out to the Lord on account of a society bent on violence. All three point to a transcendent God who gives hope in times of uncertainty. David Prior's passage-by-passage exposition of these three books provides careful study and measured insight and application for today's church.

50 Joel, Obadiah, Habakkuk, Zephaniah - Tchavdar S. Hadjiev
Auteur : Tchavdar S. Hadjiev
Genre : Bible Studies
Tchavdar S. Hadjiev introduces students to the books of Joel, Obadiah, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah (the Minor Prophets) in their original historical contexts and to the issues surrounding their composition and interpretation.

Hadjiev pays particular attention to important topics such as eschatology, prophecy and cult, intertextuality, theodicy and the genre of the prophetic book. Readers will come to grips with the key themes of judgment, repentance, and salvation in relation to their historical and canonical contexts. Finally, Hadjiev provides a theological evaluation of the prophetic attitude to foreigners and the vision of their final destruction, which is pervasive in Joel, Obadiah, Habakkuk and Zephaniah, and helps readers to grapple with this theme in a modern context.
